The HAM Radio fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany, on the shores of Lake Constance, has become an annual pilgrimage for us — a trip inspired by our shared passion for amateur radio. In the past, we would happily tow our caravan there, combining our hobby with a little holiday time. However, our hybrid car turned out to be less of a superhero in the caravan-towing department than we had hoped, so the caravan eventually found a new owner.

The fair always takes place during the last weekend of June. This time, we came up with a simple plan: after the hustle and bustle of HAM Radio, we would spend a relaxing week at the naturist campsite Ca’ Le Scope, where we had enjoyed our final caravan holiday in 2024. No sightseeing schedule, no packed itinerary — just a week dedicated to doing absolutely nothing. Plenty of sunshine, a healthy dose of stress-free sunbathing, and perhaps the occasional lazy hour by the swimming pool. Sometimes a holiday plan is best when it contains almost no plans at all.

On the way home, we decided to finally stop in Munich. We had driven past the city dozens of times on our way south, especially towards Italy, but had never actually taken the time to explore it. A short stay seemed like the perfect excuse to wander around, soak up the atmosphere and, after all these years, finally visit the BMW Museum.
