- [BOTA Winterfest 2026](https://www.on4cas.be/bota-winterfest-2026/): The first weekend of 2026 was buzzing with radio activity as amateurs ventured out to activate bunkers for the BOTA Winterfest. I’m happy to report that I managed to bag the certificate in the highest “hunter” category. A “hunter,” for the record, is someone who bravely hunts down contacts from the safety of a comfortably warm shack, while others heroically battle snow, ice, and frozen fingers to set up their portable stations next to a bunker. True dedication comes in many forms!

- [OK WWFF](https://www.on4cas.be/ok-wwff/): From time to time I pick up a WWFF reference, and over time this can lead to an award, like this one from the Czech Republic.
- [Parks On The Air - 500](https://www.on4cas.be/parks-on-the-air-500/): Constantly chasing stations that activate nature reserves and parks, day in and day out, really isn’t my thing. It is simply too time-consuming. And as the chairman of an IARU member society, I have quite a few other commitments, hi. That said, when the opportunity arises, I do of course join in an activity from time to time.
- [39 EUDXF Activity Month](https://www.on4cas.be/39-eudxf-activity-month/): The activity month of the European DX Foundation has once again come to an end. As on previous occasions, numerous special stations from various participating countries were active on the air.
- [UKBOTA Advent 2025](https://www.on4cas.be/ukbota-advent-2025/): From 1 to 25 December, the UKBOTA (UK Bunkers On The Air) group organized an Advent activity in which stations operating from British bunkers with specific bunker references had to be logged each day. This sparked a great deal of activity on the 40-meter band, and day after day ON4CAS set out to work the required stations, resulting in these two fine-looking awards.
- [December YOTA Month 2025](https://www.on4cas.be/december-yota-month-2025/): Traditionally, during the month of December, many young people take to the air with a YOTA (Youngsters On The Air) special event station. It took me some effort, but I still managed to scrape together 65 points. See this webpage for more details.
- [ASCFF](https://www.on4cas.be/ascff/): As you may have read before, I don’t necessarily chase the many activations in nature reserves. Still, every now and then an award does end up landing in my inbox.
- [ON BOTA Ruby Hunter Awards](https://www.on4cas.be/on-bota-ruby-hunter-awards/): It’s not just the hunt for British bunkers that’s paying off. The Belgian bunkers are stepping up too and refusing to be outdone. In fact, I’ve just earned the Ruby Award for 250 bunkers worked on Belgian soil.
- [UKBOTA 2025 Hunter's Platinum Award](https://www.on4cas.be/ukbota-2025-hunters-platinum-award/): Barely a month after starting my bunker hunt, I’ve already hung the certificate for having worked 300 British bunkers on my wall. Wow… that escalated quickly. To be fair, the ongoing “Advent 25” event might have had something to do with that. Just a little. 😄
- [90 Years "Nordic Amateur Radio Union"](https://www.on4cas.be/90-years-nordic-amateur-radio-union/): I’m happy to add the NARU 90 Award to my collection. NARU was the predecessor of today’s IARU member societies in Scandinavia. To mark this anniversary, the station OZ90NARU was active from Denmark.
- [UKBOTA 200 (2025)](https://www.on4cas.be/13100-2/): The bunkers are dropping like flies from the sky — honestly, at this point I’m just waiting for one to land in my backyard.Meanwhile, I’ve received my glorious award for completing 200 worked references from the United Kingdom. If productivity had a royal title, I’d be Sir Cites-a-Lot. Cheers!
- [SKMC 2025](https://www.on4cas.be/skmc-2025/): On November 1st, the “Silent Key Memorial Contest” is organized from Hungary, giving radio amateurs the opportunity to commemorate colleagues who have passed away. As in previous years, I took part again in 2025 to honor my dear friend Franz, DL9GFB. Franz and I were in contact almost daily for many years, and his passing still weighs heavily on me to this day.  
- [UK Bunkers On The Air (UKBOTA)](https://www.on4cas.be/uk-bunkers-on-the-air-ukbota/): Until November 11, Bunkers On The Air (BOTA) was pretty much unexplored territory for me. Thanks to the Armistice Day activities, I somehow got swept along into the whole thing—like a radio-obsessed tourist accidentally stumbling into a bunker. The result? A handful of fun awards, with this one being the latest addition to the collection. - [OS90OSA Award](https://www.on4cas.be/os90osa-award/): It’s not every day that you earn a certificate from your own country. I worked the special event station OS90OSA on at least five different bands and received this award in the mail. The station is on the air to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the OSA section of the UBA.

However, on November 11, 2025, there was a special event organized by the Belgian branch of the Bunkers On The Air group, so I decided to put in some effort. It paid off — a fun experience and I even managed to earn the Gold Award right away!

Ik zei: “Egbert, als ik nog één keer ‘Was ist hier passiert?’ hoor, pleeg ik zelf een misdaad.” Tijd voor ander beeld. Gelukkig had ik net iets spannenders aan dan Derrick’s regenjas, dus de afstandsbediening ging opzij — en Egbert’s aandacht eindelijk ook. Ik wil terug

- [Bunkers On The Air](https://www.on4cas.be/bunkers-on-the-air/): Bunkers Not too long ago—back in November ’25—I stumbled across a bunker.No, not literally. It just popped up while I was spinning the VFO somewhere in the 40-meter band. At first I thought, “Here we go again, another one of those endless xOTA activities.” But then something kicked in. The hunter instinct resurfaced. Logged the bunker.Then a second one. A third… Well, you can probably imagine what happened next.
